How does one pick between Madison Bumgarner and Clayton Kershaw? For one, the Giants simply struggle to produce offensively on the road. They average 3.59 runs per game, second-worst in MLB behind the Tigers. San Fran is averaging 4.1 runs per game this month, compared to 5.1 for Los Angeles. Now on to the pitchers: Bumgarner’s road ERA is 4.44, nearly three runs higher than it is at home. That includes a subpar loss at L.A. on June 16. Kershaw has a 3.02 ERA at home, worse than his road mark by a full run, but his batting average allowed is just five points higher. He’s allowed two runs in 13 innings against the Giants.
